How the CVE Works:
The Seriously Simple Podcasting WordPress plugin, up to and including version 3.13.0, fails to implement nonce (number used once) verification on one or more of its administrative AJAX actions. This security flaw allows an attacker to craft a malicious web page. If a logged-in WordPress administrator visits this page, the attacker’s script can silently forge a request (a CSRF attack) from the victim’s browser to the vulnerable plugin’s admin endpoint. Because the administrator is already authenticated, the WordPress site will execute the forged request as a legitimate action. This could enable an attacker to trick an admin into performing unintended state-changing operations, such as modifying podcast settings, deleting episodes, or potentially injecting malicious code, without their knowledge or consent.
