Huawei, Race Condition Vulnerability, CVE-2025-66326 (Medium)

Listen to this Post

This vulnerability is a race condition within the audio subsystem of Huawei devices. A race condition occurs when the output of a process is unexpectedly dependent on the sequence or timing of other uncontrollable events. In this case, concurrent threads or processes improperly access shared resources in the audio driver or service without adequate locking or synchronization mechanisms. This flawed sequence of operations can lead to the system reading from or writing to an invalid memory state. The CVSS vector (AV:L/AC:L/PR:H) indicates the attack must be launched locally, has low attack complexity, but requires high user privileges. An attacker with existing local high privileges could exploit this timing window to corrupt kernel memory or crash the audio service. This corruption leads to a denial-of-service condition for audio functionality and, as reflected by the high Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability impacts in the vector, could potentially be leveraged for further system compromise, such as escalating privileges or executing arbitrary code within the kernel context.
Platform: Huawei products
Version: N/A
Vulnerability : Race Condition
Severity: Medium
date: 12/08/2025

Prediction: 01/15/2026

What Undercode Say:

Analytics:

`lsof | grep audio`

`ps aux | grep audioserver`

`strace -p `

`cat /proc//maps`

`while true; do am start -n com.android.settings/.Settings; done`

How Exploit:

1. Attacher gains local shell.

2. Identifies audio service PID.

3. Crafts competing threads.

4. Threads race resource access.

5. Triggers memory corruption.

6. Crashes service/system.

Protection from this CVE:

Apply vendor patch.

Restrict local access.

Use kernel hardening.

Monitor system crashes.

Impact:

Audio service crash.

System instability.
