How the CVE-2025-20303 Works
The vulnerability exists within the web-based management interface of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and ISE-PIC. The core issue is insufficient server-side validation of user-supplied input. An attacker with a low-privileged account can inject malicious JavaScript code into specific parameters of certain web pages. When an administrator or another user with higher privileges views the compromised page, the malicious script is reflected and executed within their browser session. This execution happens in the context of the management interface, allowing the attacker to steal session cookies, perform actions on behalf of the authenticated user, or access sensitive information displayed in the interface, all without directly compromising the server itself.
DailyCVE Form
Platform: Cisco ISE/PIC
Version: Multiple versions
Vulnerability: Reflected XSS
Severity: Medium
date: 11/05/2025
Prediction: Patch expected by 02/2025
What Undercode Say:
`curl -k -u “lowprivuser:password” -X POST “https://
`grep -r “input validation” /cisco/ise/webui/`
`nmap -p 443 –script http-security-headers`
How Exploit:
Attacker logs into the ISE interface with a low-privileged account. They navigate to a vulnerable page and submit a crafted request containing a malicious script in a specific parameter. The server unsanitized input is reflected in the HTTP response. The attacker then tricks an administrator into clicking a link that triggers the crafted request. The script executes in the admin’s browser, hijacking their session.
