The vulnerability in AuthKit React Router Library (versions before 0.7.0) exposed sensitive authentication artifacts (sealedSession and accessToken) by returning them from the authkitLoader. This caused the tokens to be rendered directly into the browser’s HTML output. Attackers could exploit this flaw through cross-site scripting (XSS), malicious browser extensions, or by inspecting local HTML source code. Once obtained, these tokens could enable session hijacking, allowing unauthorized access to user accounts. The issue stemmed from improper handling of sensitive data in the loader function, which inadvertently included authentication tokens in the DOM.
