How the CVE Works
The vulnerability (CVE-2025-XXXX) in Apache Seata 2.4.0 arises due to improper validation of serialized data during communication with the Seata server. Attackers can craft malicious payloads that, when deserialized, execute arbitrary code on the server. The flaw exists in the RPC (Remote Procedure Call) component, where untrusted data is processed without proper checks. Exploitation can lead to remote code execution (RCE), compromising the server. The issue is fixed in version 2.5.0 by implementing stricter deserialization safeguards.
