How the CVE Works
CVE-2025-43587 is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in Adobe After Effects (versions 25.2, 24.6.6, and earlier). When processing a maliciously crafted project file, the software reads data beyond the intended memory buffer boundaries. This allows an attacker to leak sensitive memory contents, potentially bypassing ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization). Exploitation requires user interaction—the victim must open a specially designed file. Successful exploitation could lead to information disclosure or facilitate further attacks by revealing memory layout details.
