How the CVE Works
The Support Board plugin for WordPress (up to v3.8.0) uses a hardcoded encryption key in the `sb_encryption()` function, allowing attackers to bypass authentication. The `sb_ajax_execute()` function processes AJAX requests without proper authorization checks. By reverse-engineering the hardcoded secret, an unauthenticated attacker can craft malicious requests to execute arbitrary plugin actions, including data manipulation, deletion, or exploitation of other vulnerabilities like CVE-2025-4828.
