How CVE-2025-48809 Works
This vulnerability occurs due to improper processor optimization in the Windows Kernel, where security-critical code is either removed or modified during execution. An attacker with local access can exploit this flaw to bypass security checks and access sensitive kernel memory. The issue stems from speculative execution side-effects, similar to previous Spectre-class vulnerabilities, allowing unauthorized data leakage. The attacker must execute carefully crafted code to trigger this behavior, leading to information disclosure without requiring elevated privileges.
