How the CVE Works
CVE-2025-48808 is a local information disclosure vulnerability in the Windows Kernel. An attacker with low privileges can exploit improper memory handling in the kernel to access sensitive data, such as system memory contents or encryption keys. The flaw arises due to insufficient access controls in a kernel-mode driver, allowing unauthorized read operations. By crafting a malicious system call or using a specially designed application, the attacker can trigger the vulnerability and leak critical kernel memory. This could lead to further exploitation, such as privilege escalation or bypassing security mechanisms.
