How the CVE Works
CVE-2025-47999 exploits a missing synchronization flaw in Windows Hyper-V, allowing an adjacent-network attacker to trigger a denial of service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability stems from improper handling of virtual machine resource allocation, where race conditions in memory management operations can be abused to crash the hypervisor. Attackers send specially crafted network packets to a Hyper-V host, causing a deadlock or infinite loop in the virtualization layer, leading to system instability.
