How the CVE Works:
CVE-2025-48804 exploits a flaw in Windows BitLocker’s data validation mechanism, where untrusted input is improperly accepted alongside trusted data during the encryption process. An attacker with physical access can manipulate this weakness to bypass BitLocker’s authentication, gaining unauthorized access to encrypted drives. The vulnerability stems from insufficient validation of external data sources, allowing maliciously crafted input to trick BitLocker into granting decryption without proper credentials.
