How CVE-2025-6691 Works
The SureForms WordPress plugin (≤ v1.7.3) contains an unauthenticated arbitrary file deletion vulnerability in the `delete_entry_files()` function. Due to insufficient path validation, attackers can manipulate file paths via user-controlled input (e.g., `entry_id` or `file_path` parameters). By submitting crafted requests, an attacker can delete critical system files (e.g., wp-config.php), leading to site compromise or remote code execution. The lack of CSRF protection and capability checks enables exploitation without authentication.
