How the CVE Works:
CVE-2025-20322 exploits a CSRF vulnerability in Splunk Enterprise (versions below 9.4.3, 9.3.5, 9.2.7, 9.1.10) and Splunk Cloud Platform (versions below 9.3.2411.104, 9.3.2408.113, 9.2.2406.119). An attacker crafts a malicious SPL (Splunk Processing Language) search command embedded in a phishing link. When an authenticated admin clicks the link, the request triggers a rolling restart of the Search Head Cluster (SHC) via CSRF, causing a denial of service. The attack relies on social engineering, as the victim must be logged into Splunk with sufficient privileges.
