The CVE-2025-XXXX vulnerability in the Mattermost Confluence Plugin (versions < 1.5.0) stems from improper authorization checks when handling subscription edits. The plugin fails to verify whether a user has legitimate access to a Confluence space before allowing modifications to its subscriptions. Attackers can exploit this flaw by sending crafted requests to the edit subscription endpoint, enabling unauthorized changes to subscriptions for restricted Confluence spaces. This oversight in access control could lead to unintended data exposure or disruption of configured integrations.
