Mattermost Confluence Plugin, Missing Authorization, CVE-2025-XXXX (Low)

Listen to this Post

The CVE-2025-XXXX vulnerability in the Mattermost Confluence Plugin (versions < 1.5.0) stems from improper authorization checks in the API endpoint handling subscription details. The plugin fails to validate user authentication when processing `GET /subscription` requests, allowing unauthenticated attackers to retrieve sensitive subscription data. This occurs due to a missing authentication middleware in the affected endpoint, exposing subscription metadata without requiring valid credentials. The flaw is exploitable by sending a crafted HTTP request to the vulnerable endpoint, bypassing Mattermost’s authentication mechanisms.
