The CVE-2025-XXXX vulnerability in Mattermost Confluence Plugin versions before 1.5.0 stems from improper authorization checks in the subscription creation endpoint. When a user attempts to subscribe to a Confluence space, the plugin fails to verify whether the user has legitimate access rights to that space. This allows an attacker to craft a malicious API request to the `/create-subscription` endpoint, linking their Mattermost account to a restricted Confluence space without proper validation. The exploit leverages insufficient server-side validation, enabling unauthorized data access through the plugin’s integration layer.
