The CVE-2025-XXXX vulnerability in the Mattermost Confluence Plugin (versions < 1.5.0) stems from improper authorization checks when handling API requests. The plugin fails to validate whether a user has sufficient permissions before processing requests to create channel subscriptions. Attackers can exploit this flaw by sending crafted API calls to the subscription endpoint, allowing unauthorized creation of channel subscriptions even without proper access.
