Liferay Portal, Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF), CVE-2025-XXXXX (Moderate)

Listen to this Post

This vulnerability in Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP arises due to insufficient validation of user-supplied URLs in the `portal-settings-authentication-opensso-web` component. Attackers can craft malicious requests that trick the server into making unauthorized HTTP calls to internal systems. Since the flaw exists pre-authentication, even unauthenticated users can exploit it. The SSRF vulnerability allows attackers to bypass firewall restrictions, interact with internal services, and potentially escalate access by abusing trusted server-side connections. The improper URL validation enables attackers to manipulate server-side requests, leading to data exposure or further exploitation of internal network resources.
