itsourcecode Student Management System, SQL Injection, CVE-2025-14257 (MEDIUM)

Listen to this Post

How the CVE Works

This vulnerability is a classic SQL Injection in the itsourcecode Student Management System 1.0. The flaw exists in the `newrecord.php` file, which unsafely incorporates user-supplied input from the `ID` parameter directly into a SQL database query without proper sanitization or the use of parameterized statements. An attacker can remotely send specially crafted HTTP requests containing malicious SQL code within the `ID` argument. When this tainted data is concatenated into the SQL command and executed by the backend database, it alters the intended query logic. This manipulation allows the attacker to read, modify, or delete sensitive data within the application’s database, such as student records, credentials, or system configurations. The attack is facilitated by the application’s failure to validate or escape input before processing.
