How the mentioned CVE works:
CVE-2025-36008 is a vulnerability in IBM Db2 where an authenticated user can trigger an improper allocation of system resources. By sending specially crafted requests to the database server, the attacker can cause Db2 to consume excessive memory or other critical resources. This uncontrolled resource consumption leads to the database service becoming unresponsive or crashing, resulting in a complete denial of service for legitimate users. The attack does not require privileged user credentials, making it accessible to any user with standard database authentication.
