How the CVE Works
CVE-2025-40685 is a reflected XSS vulnerability in Human Resource Management System (HRMS) version 1.0. The flaw exists in the `state.php` file, specifically within the `searcstate` parameter. An attacker can craft a malicious URL containing JavaScript payloads, which, when clicked by a victim, executes the script in their browser context. This occurs due to improper input sanitization, allowing arbitrary script injection. The attack requires user interaction (clicking the link) and leverages low-privilege access, making it a medium-severity issue.
