How the CVE Works
The vulnerability CVE-2025-13223 is a type confusion flaw within the V8 JavaScript engine. In a type confusion attack, an attacker crafts malicious JavaScript code that tricks the V8 engine into misinterpreting the type of an object in memory. For instance, the engine might be manipulated into treating an object as a different, incompatible type. This breaks the engine’s internal security checks and can lead to out-of-bounds memory access. By exploiting this, an attacker can read from or write to memory locations outside the bounds of the intended object, ultimately leading to heap corruption. A remote attacker can trigger this by enticing a user to visit a specially crafted HTML page, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution on the target system.
DailyCVE
Platform: Google Chrome

Vulnerability : Type Confusion
Severity: High
date: 11/17/2025

What Undercode Say:
git clone https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src.git cd src git log --oneline --grep="142.0.7444.175"
// Proof-of-Concept concept code structure
function triggerConfusion() {
function vulnerableFunction(obj) {
// Type confusion trigger logic
obj.inline_prop = 0x41414141; // Corrupts memory if type is confused
}
let target = {x: 1};
vulnerableFunction(target);
}
How Exploit:
A remote attacker creates a malicious webpage containing crafted JavaScript code designed to trigger the type confusion in the V8 engine. When a victim visits this page, the exploit code manipulates type information, leading to heap corruption and potentially allowing the execution of arbitrary code on the victim’s machine.
Protection from this CVE
Update Google Chrome to version 142.0.7444.175 or later. Disable JavaScript.
