The vulnerability exists within a specific Frappe framework endpoint that improperly handles user-supplied parameters. Due to insufficient input validation and sanitization, an attacker can craft malicious requests containing SQL code fragments. By injecting these fragments into vulnerable parameters, they trigger database errors that are reflected back in the server’s HTTP responses. This technique, known as error-based SQL injection, allows the attacker to iteratively reconstruct and extract sensitive information from the underlying database, such as the database version, schema details, or potentially other application data, by observing the error messages.
