How the CVE Works
The CVE-2025-XXXXX vulnerability in files-bucket-server arises due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied input in file path operations. Attackers can manipulate path traversal sequences (e.g., ../) to escape the restricted directory and access arbitrary files on the system. This occurs when the server fails to validate or normalize file paths before processing read/write operations. Exploiting this flaw allows unauthorized access to sensitive system files, configuration data, or application source code, depending on server permissions.
