EchelonGraph MCP, Information Disclosure, CVE-2026-7936 (critical) -DC-Oct2026-3083

Listen to this Post

CVE-2026-7936 is a vulnerability in EchelonGraph MCP versions prior to 2.7.0 involving improper handling of rejected CVE identifiers within vendor advisory lookups. Specifically, vendor_advisories_for_cve, get_vendor_advisory, and search_vendor_advisories previously presented advisories referencing retracted or rejected CVE IDs as normal, active advisories without warning of their withdrawn status. When a vendor has not explicitly rescinded their advisory text, the system failed to verify whether the underlying CVE record was rejected by its numbering authority, leading to potential misrepresentation of threat intelligence data, incorrect prioritization of remediation efforts, and automated exposure tracking errors. Core-backend updates introduce rejected_cve_ids fields and enforce explicit handling of withdrawn records to mitigate this gap.

DailyCVE Form:

What Undercode Say

Check installed EchelonGraph MCP version
npx echelongraph-mcp --version
Verify CVE rejection status in advisory responses
curl -s "https://api.echelongraph.io/api/v1/advisories?cve=CVE-2026-7936" | jq '.rejected_cve_ids'

Exploit: (Educational Purposes!)

}

Protection:

Update EchelonGraph MCP to version 2.7.0 or later, which correctly parses and surfaces `rejected_cve_ids` and handles withdrawn notices.

Impact:

Misinterpretation of threat status, flawed automated risk scoring, and wasted remediation cycles on retracted vulnerabilities.
