How the CVE Works
CVE-2025-26479 is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in Dell PowerScale OneFS versions 9.4.0.0 through 9.10.0.0. The flaw occurs in NFS (Network File System) workflows, where improper boundary checks allow an attacker to write data beyond allocated memory buffers. This can corrupt critical system structures, leading to data integrity issues or remote code execution. Attackers exploiting this vulnerability could gain elevated privileges, disrupt services, or manipulate filesystem data. The issue stems from insufficient validation of user-supplied input in NFS request handling.
