How the CVE Works:
CVE-2025-22471 is an integer overflow vulnerability in Dell PowerScale OneFS versions 9.4.0.0 through 9.10.0.1. The flaw occurs when arithmetic operations exceed the maximum value a variable can hold, causing a wraparound to a smaller number or negative value. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this by sending specially crafted requests to trigger a buffer overflow, leading to a denial of service (DoS) condition or potential remote code execution (RCE). The vulnerability resides in the filesystem handling logic, where improper bounds checking allows memory corruption.
