Dell Common Event Enabler, Improper Restriction of Communication Channel, CVE-2025-29986 (Critical)

Listen to this Post

How the CVE Works:

CVE-2025-29986 exploits a flaw in Dell Common Event Enabler (CEE) v9.0.0.0, specifically in the Common Anti-Virus Agent (CAVA). The vulnerability arises due to improper validation of remote communication endpoints, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to bypass intended restrictions. By sending crafted requests to exposed CAVA interfaces, an attacker can gain unauthorized access, potentially leading to remote code execution or sensitive data exposure. The lack of proper authentication checks enables this attack vector to be exploited over the network without user interaction.
