How CVE-2025-20250 Works
CVE-2025-20250 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Cisco WebEx due to improper input sanitization in user-supplied data. An attacker crafts a malicious link containing JavaScript payloads, which executes when a victim clicks it. Since WebEx fails to filter dangerous characters (e.g., <script>alert(1)</script>), the payload renders in the victim’s browser, allowing session hijacking, phishing, or malware delivery. The attack requires no authentication, making it highly exploitable via phishing or embedded in meeting invites.
