How the CVE Works
The vulnerability in `[email protected]` (used by [email protected]) stems from its use of `Math.random()` to generate multipart boundary strings. This method produces predictable values, allowing attackers to guess or manipulate boundaries in HTTP requests. Exploiting this flaw enables HTTP parameter pollution or injection attacks, potentially disrupting request parsing or injecting malicious parameters. The issue was addressed in later versions of `form-data` by replacing `Math.random()` with a cryptographically secure alternative.
