How the CVE Works
The vulnerability (CVE-2025-XXXXX) in Apache Zeppelin (versions 0.10.1 to 0.12.0) allows unauthenticated attackers to exploit the raft server protocol, leading to Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF). By sending crafted requests, an attacker can bypass authentication and access internal server resources, including directories and files. This occurs due to improper validation in the Cluster Interpreter component, which exposes sensitive system paths. The flaw enables unauthorized data retrieval and potential further exploitation, such as remote code execution (RCE) if combined with other vulnerabilities.
DailyCVE Form
Platform: Apache Zeppelin

What Undercode Say
curl -X GET "http://vulnerable-zeppelin/api/interpreter/cluster" nmap -p 8080 --script http-vuln-cve2025xxxxx <target> grep -r "raft.server" /opt/zeppelin/conf
How Exploit
1. Craft malicious HTTP request to `/api/interpreter/cluster`.
2. Leverage SSRF to enumerate internal files.
3. Exfiltrate sensitive data via exposed endpoints.
Protection from this CVE
- Upgrade to Zeppelin 0.12.0.
