Apache Jena, Path Validation Bypass, CVE-2025-XXXXX (High)

Listen to this Post

How the CVE Works

Apache Jena fails to validate file access paths in configuration files uploaded by administrators. Attackers with admin privileges can manipulate paths to read/write arbitrary files, leading to unauthorized access or remote code execution. The vulnerability stems from insufficient path sanitization when processing uploaded configs, allowing directory traversal (e.g., ../../malicious.conf). Exploitation requires admin access but can compromise server integrity.
