How the CVE Works
CVE-2025-21006 is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the `libsavsvc.so` library affecting Android versions prior to Android 15. The flaw occurs during the processing of macro blocks in the MPEG4 codec, where improper bounds checking allows a local attacker to write data beyond allocated memory boundaries. This can lead to arbitrary code execution, memory corruption, or crashes. The vulnerability is exploitable via a maliciously crafted video file processed by the affected library.
