ADOdb, SQL Injection, CVE-2023-XXXX (Critical)

Listen to this Post

How the CVE Works

The vulnerability occurs due to improper escaping of query parameters in ADOdb when interacting with SQLite3 databases. Attackers can craft malicious table names passed to metaColumns(), metaForeignKeys(), or `metaIndexes()` methods, leading to arbitrary SQL execution. If user-supplied input is directly used in these methods without sanitization, an attacker can manipulate SQL queries, potentially compromising database integrity, confidentiality, or availability. The flaw stems from insufficient input validation in the SQLite3 driver, allowing injection via the `$table` parameter.
