The CVE-2025-64048 vulnerability is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) issue in YCCMS version 3.4, specifically within the management functionality. The flaw resides in the add() and getPost() functions of the Action.class.php file. These functions handle user input for s without proper neutralization, allowing malicious JavaScript code to be injected. When an attacker submits an with a crafted containing script tags, the input is directly stored in the database due to lack of sanitization in the add() function. The getPost() function then retrieves this unsanitized data and outputs it to web pages without encoding. As a result, when legitimate users view the affected , the embedded script executes in their browsers. This enables attackers to steal session cookies, hijack user accounts, perform actions on behalf of users, or deface the website. The vulnerability exploits the trust placed in the backend management system, potentially requiring contributor-level access, but could be combined with other flaws for wider exploitation. The root cause is insufficient input validation and output encoding, common in PHP applications that fail to filter user-controlled data. Mitigation requires implementing strict input filtering and using output encoding functions like htmlspecialchars() before rendering content.
