How the CVE Works:
This vulnerability exploits a flaw in the authentication logic of the Uniong WebITR platform. An attacker who has already obtained valid low-privilege credentials (or a legitimate user ID) can manipulate a specific HTTP request parameter sent to the application during the login or session validation process. By modifying this parameter, such as a user identifier or a session token field, the application fails to properly verify the association between the submitted credential and the targeted account. This allows the attacker to bypass authorization checks and assume the identity of any other user, including administrators, by simply changing the parameter value to the victim’s ID, resulting in a complete authentication bypass.

What Undercode Say:
Analytics:
curl -X POST http://<target>/login -d "userid=attacker¶m=admin_id" grep -r "userid" /var/www/webitr/source/ netstat -tulpn | grep :80
How Exploit:
1. Attacker acquires a valid low-privilege user ID.
- Attacker intercepts login or session request (e.g., via proxy).
- Attacker modifies the vulnerable parameter (e.g.,
uid, targetUser) to a different user’s ID. - The application grants access as the targeted user.
Protection from this CVE:
Apply vendor patch.
Implement proper server-side authorization checks.
Use immutable session identifiers.
Employ multi-factor authentication.
Impact:
Full system compromise.
Privilege escalation.
