How the CVE Works
CVE-2025-21445 exploits a memory corruption vulnerability in Qualcomm’s hypervisor when copying data between virtual machines and the host. The issue occurs due to improper bounds checking when transferring data to shared transmission queues. Attackers can craft malicious payloads that overflow the allocated buffer space, leading to arbitrary code execution in hypervisor context. The vulnerability stems from missing validation of queue indices during cross-VM communication, allowing overwrite of adjacent memory structures.
