How the Mentioned CVE Works
CVE-2025-53014 is an information disclosure vulnerability in the Overhang.IO Tutor platform, specifically version 20.0.2. The flaw stems from improper server-side configuration of HTTP Cache-Control headers for sensitive endpoints. When a user accesses pages containing private data, the application fails to instruct client browsers or intermediate caching proxies not to store the responses. Concurrently, the application lacks adequate client-side session validation for cached content. This allows a local attacker with access to the same client system or network position to inspect the browser’s disk cache or intercept proxy cache traffic. The attacker can then retrieve previously served HTTP responses containing another user’s sensitive information, such as session tokens or personal data, without requiring authentication at the time of retrieval.
