How the CVE Works:
CVE-2025-22925 is a SQL injection flaw in OS4ED openSIS versions 7.0 to 9.1. The vulnerability exists in the `table` parameter of /attendance/AttendanceCodes.php. An authenticated attacker with admin privileges can inject malicious SQL queries through this parameter, manipulating database operations. Due to improper input sanitization, the application executes attacker-controlled SQL commands, potentially leading to data theft, unauthorized access, or database compromise. The exploit requires admin-level authentication, limiting attack scope but posing severe risks if exploited.
DailyCVE Form:
Platform: OS4ED openSIS
Version: 7.0 to 9.1
Vulnerability: SQL Injection
Severity: Critical
Date: 04/29/2025
What Undercode Say:
Exploitation:
1. Payload Example:
GET /attendance/AttendanceCodes.php?table=attendance_codes;SELECT%20%20FROM%20users-- HTTP/1.1
2. Exploit Steps:
- Authenticate as admin.
- Craft malicious `table` parameter with SQL commands.
- Execute via HTTP request to leak/alter data.
Protection:
1. Patch: Upgrade to openSIS v9.2+.
2. Input Sanitization:
$table = mysqli_real_escape_string($conn, $_GET['table']);
3. WAF Rules: Block SQLi patterns (e.g., UNION SELECT, --).
4. Logging: Monitor suspicious queries:
grep "AttendanceCodes.php?table=" /var/log/apache2/access.log
Detection:
- SQLi Testing:
sqlmap -u "http://target/attendance/AttendanceCodes.php?table=1" --cookie="PHPSESSID=..." --level=5
- Database Audit:
SELECT FROM mysql.general_log WHERE argument LIKE '%attendance_codes%';
Mitigation:
- Disable admin API access if unused.
- Implement least-privilege DB roles.
- Use prepared statements:
$stmt = $conn->prepare("SELECT FROM attendance_codes WHERE id=?"); $stmt->bind_param("i", $table);
