Mezzanine CMS, Cross-site Scripting, CVE-2025-XXXX (Moderate)

Listen to this Post

How the CVE Works:

The CVE-2025-XXXX vulnerability in Mezzanine CMS v6.1.0 arises due to insufficient input sanitization in the `/blog/blogpost/add` endpoint. Attackers can inject malicious JavaScript or HTML payloads into blog posts, which are then rendered unsanitized in the browser of other users. This stored XSS attack allows execution of arbitrary scripts in the context of the victim’s session, potentially leading to session hijacking, defacement, or data theft. The vulnerability stems from improper validation of user-supplied content before persistence and rendering.
