This vulnerability exists in the `section_edit1.php` file of the itsourcecode Student Information System version 1.0. The application does not properly sanitize user-controlled input passed to the `ID` parameter. An attacker can inject malicious SQL code through this parameter, which is then concatenated directly into a SQL query executed by the backend database. Because the application fails to use prepared statements or adequate input validation, the injected SQL commands are executed. This allows a remote, authenticated attacker (with low privileges) to read, modify, or delete sensitive information from the database, potentially leading to a full compromise of the application’s data. The exploit is publicly available, increasing the risk of widespread attacks.
