This vulnerability is a Use-After-Free (UAF) flaw within a specific Huawei USB driver kernel module. UAF occurs when a program continues to use a pointer to a memory location after it has been freed or deallocated. In this driver, improper handling of USB device disconnection events or specific asynchronous operations creates a race condition. The driver likely fails to properly manage internal data structures, freeing a buffer containing critical object metadata while a separate execution thread still holds a reference to it. When the system later accesses this dangling pointer, it reads from or writes to memory that may have been reallocated for a different purpose. This corrupts kernel memory and can lead to a system crash (Denial-of-Service) or, with careful manipulation, allow an attacker to leak sensitive kernel data or potentially execute arbitrary code. Exploitation requires local access, high privileges, and a complex race condition, making it difficult but dangerous if achieved, compromising both system availability and confidentiality.
