The CVE-2025-58305 vulnerability is an identity authentication bypass within the Huawei Gallery application. The flaw resides in how the app handles specific intents or requests for certain actions or content. An attacker with physical access to the device, or a malicious application installed on the device, can craft and send a specially configured intent to the Gallery app. This intent exploits a logic flaw in the authentication check routine, allowing the attacker to bypass the intended identity verification step. Consequently, unauthorized actions can be performed within the Gallery’s context. The attack requires no user interaction and no special privileges, executing with the app’s own permissions. Successful exploitation does not compromise data confidentiality or integrity but can lead to a high impact on the service’s availability, potentially causing a denial of service condition by interfering with the app’s normal operation through unauthorized commands.
