The vulnerability in `golang.org/x/oauth2` arises due to improper validation of token syntax during parsing. When a maliciously crafted token is processed, the library fails to properly check its structural correctness, leading to excessive memory consumption. Attackers can exploit this by sending malformed OAuth2 tokens, causing the application to allocate unexpected memory resources, potentially leading to denial-of-service (DoS) conditions. The issue stems from insufficient boundary checks in the token parsing logic, allowing invalid input to trigger uncontrolled memory allocation.
