How the CVE Works:
This Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists within the DotNetNuke (DNN) platform’s module management. The affected `DotNetNuke.Core` component improperly handles rich text input for module s. An attacker with permissions to edit a module’s can inject malicious JavaScript code within the field, leveraging the rich text support. This user-controlled input is not sufficiently sanitized or encoded before being persisted to the database. When the module is later rendered on a page, the stored script is executed in the browser of any user viewing that page, within the security context of the vulnerable DNN site, leading to client-side code execution.
