How the CVE Works:
The vulnerability CVE-2025-13758 in Devolutions Server is an instance of sensitive information disclosure where the server inadvertently includes user credentials within HTTP requests that are not intended for authentication purposes. This occurs due to improper session or token handling logic within the application’s backend services. When a user performs certain legitimate actions, the server’s request generation mechanism erroneously appends or leaks authentication tokens, session cookies, or cached credentials into subsequent requests sent to internal or external endpoints. These credentials are transmitted in clear text or within easily decodable parameters in the request headers or body, potentially to APIs not designed to receive them. An attacker monitoring network traffic—either through a man-in-the-middle position or by accessing server logs—could intercept these requests and extract the embedded credentials. The captured credentials, which are often valid session tokens or authentication keys, could then be reused to impersonate the user and gain unauthorized access to the Devolutions Server instance and all associated sensitive data and connections managed within it.
