Desktop Alert PingAlert, Incorrect Access Control, CVE-2025-54338 (Critical)

Listen to this Post

How the CVE Works:

The vulnerability resides in the Application Server component of Desktop Alert PingAlert. Due to improper access control configurations, an unauthenticated remote attacker can send specially crafted HTTP requests to specific administrative API endpoints that are incorrectly exposed. These endpoints are intended to be restricted but lack proper authentication and authorization checks. By accessing these endpoints, the attacker can query the server for sensitive data, including the cryptographic hashes of user passwords. The server responds to these unauthorized requests, leading to the disclosure of the password hash values. This exploit does not require user interaction and can be performed over the network.
