How CVE-2025-29985 Works
The vulnerability exists in Dell Common Event Enabler (CEE) version 9.0.0.0 due to insecure default initialization in the Common Anti-Virus Agent (CAVA). An attacker with remote access can exploit this flaw without authentication, leading to unauthorized system access. The insecure default configuration allows malicious actors to bypass security checks, potentially executing arbitrary code or gaining elevated privileges. The flaw stems from improper hardening of the CAVA service during initialization, leaving critical security parameters modifiable.
