DB Electronica Mozart FM Transmitter, Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Upload, CVE-2025-66255 (CRITICAL)

Listen to this Post

The vulnerability exists in the `upgrade_contents.php` firmware upgrade endpoint. This script accepts file uploads intended for device firmware updates. It fails to perform any cryptographic signature validation on the uploaded file package, does not check file headers for authenticity, and does not enforce the required `.tgz` archive format. An unauthenticated attacker can send a malicious HTTP POST request containing a crafted file payload directly to this endpoint. Since no authentication is required and no integrity checks are performed, the system will accept the uploaded file. The malicious file is then stored on the device’s filesystem. As the firmware update process likely executes or extracts contents with high privileges, this arbitrary file upload leads directly to remote code execution on the affected FM transmitter device, granting the attacker full control.
Platform: DB Electronica Mozart
Version: 30,50,100,300,500,1000
Vulnerability: Arbitrary File Upload
Severity: CRITICAL (9.9)
date: 2025-11-25

What Undercode Say:

curl -X POST -F “[email protected]” http:///upgrade_contents.php

wget –post-file=payload.tgz /upgrade_contents.php

find / -name “upgrade_contents.php” 2>/dev/null

How Exploit:

1. Craft malicious firmware package.

2. Send unauthenticated POST request.

3. Upload triggers RCE.

4. Attacker gains shell access.
