How the CVE Works
CVE-2025-7194 is a critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in D-Link DI-500WF firmware version 17.04.10A1T. The flaw resides in the `ip_position.asp` file within the `jhttpd` component, where improper handling of the `ip` parameter via the `sprintf` function leads to uncontrolled memory corruption. Attackers can remotely exploit this by sending a crafted HTTP request with an overly long `ip` argument, overflowing the fixed-size stack buffer. Successful exploitation may allow arbitrary code execution with root privileges due to insufficient bounds checking in the firmware.

What Undercode Say
Analytics:
curl -X POST http://<TARGET>/ip_position.asp -d "ip=$(python -c 'print("A"1024)')"
import requests
payload = "A" 1024
requests.post("http://<TARGET>/ip_position.asp", data={"ip": payload})
How Exploit:
- Craft malicious HTTP request with oversized `ip` parameter.
- Overwrite return address to hijack execution flow.
- Deploy ROP chain for arbitrary code execution.
Protection from this CVE:
- Disable remote admin access.
- Apply firmware patch (when released).
- Use network segmentation.
Impact:
- Remote code execution.
- Full device compromise.
- Network infiltration.
